What is Psychotherapy?

There are many notions and thoughts about what psychotherapy is. I feel this is because there are various different theoretical trainings and schools.

I chose to train as a psychoanalytical psychotherapist. I work on the basic principle that your past can have an effect on your present and also on your future. Through one-to-one sessions, we can explore what is happening to you in the present while also exploring your early life.

The aim of the therapy process is to unravel what is happening currently in your life through finding the root of the problem which is often left unconscious.

I believe therapy is a working relationship in which I work with you for an agreed time period exploring your thoughts and feelings, with the aim of enabling you to enhance your life and to live it more fully.
